My neighbor in the
back has a snag which is about 20' tall, 8" dbh, 4' from the fence.

Frankly, I love
watching woodpeckers foraging on the snag since years, but reading parallel
threads made me wary that it may suddenly fall over and damage the fence.

I talked to my
neighbor some time ago about the snag, along with the weather etc., I was not
concerned at all at the time. He didn't know when the tree died, he inherited
it from the previous owner. He did limb up the snag to about 10', as high as he
himself could do it. Since I mentioned that I had a tree removed, he asked and
I referred him to the tree removal service, but there was no follow-up, he
probably shied away from the removal cost when it is not absolutely necessary.

Shall I persuade my
neighbor to remove the snag? How? The snag sways like a living tree does in the
wind, it does not appear to be the least wiggly or something
