Any simple self cleaning wall ovens that won't fry the electronics?

Planning a new kitchen when we move and we're going with a 30" Bluestar Platinum range. While we've been very happy with our current 27" Dacor double wall ovens I've been afraid of using the self clean for fear of damage to the electronics.

The Bluestar oven is gas without a self clean function. I'd like to pair it with a 27" or 30" electric wall oven which will probably be my primary oven and where I can safely use the self clean (on a limited basis).

We don't need elaborate cooking modes, we seldom use the convection in our ovens now. Both of us are retired and not particularly attracted to kitchen technology (hence the Bluestar) and probably don't need or wouldn't use a speed oven or steam oven often enough to justify the price and cabinet space.

DH loved the look of the Thermador Pro POD301J - but that's around 4 thousand - that's a lot of $ if the self clean can't be used. Have we advanced the features of our ovens to the point that you have to resort to manual clean?

Does a simple self cleaning oven even exist?

Bluestar makes a 30'' electric wall oven with a self clean mode. While the model does have a touch screen, it is extremely simple and easy to use.

That's a possibility - especially since the Bluestar isn't technically self clean - it's a continuous clean - so it doesn't lock and go into the high heat mode.

DH did like the rotisserie on the Thermador. I'll have to check the Bluestar wall oven.

There is a cleaning mode on the 30" electric wall oven. I just received mine and ran the self clean as recommended to vapourize the factory chemicals. It didn't seem to get all that hot. No place I could touch was "ouchie" hot. I don't believe that overheating the circuit board will be a problem.

Jerry - that's interesting - thanks for correcting me. It appears that the Bluestar is both continuous and self clean. The description on Blue star's website states:

........."Eco-friendly Continu Clean™ feature continuously cleans the oven cavity"

But it was only by reading the owner's manual that I discovered the 'Self Clean' instructions too.
