Why brown tops with gray cabinetry?? Or what is cabinetry?

Sorry I left out a detail :) Cabinets are going to be glossy white.

Specifically Hacker cabinets such as the below.

White top seems like too much white for the room as walls are likely to be white too.

It's always been my belief that counter tops should match... but when i saw this showroom in person it made me think twice, so I'm still on the fence... (wife is sold on the duo tone concept). Sadly automatic louvers and glass cabinet finish will need to be replaced with lacquer white glass like finish as the full glass panels are prohibitively expensive.

Tall cabinets will be white too, out kitchen floor is being replaced with jungle nut wood like tiles.

So still on the fence about which to go for.

Agree 100% with Patricia. No comprehension of why you want brown top anything with all glossy white cabinetry. You need not acknowledge the tiles with a "match" to the flooring. You have no dark cabinetry, as your inspiration pic above. Your floor appears online as plenty of brown tone?.

@Steve -- I see same color main cabinets and island in your example, so it's not really counter to Patricia's point. If all your cabinets are the same color, then sure, go ahead and put some contrasting counter on the island. You've seen it and liked the effect, so party on. Agree, though, that the counter color should relate to something else in the room, whether it's brown flooring, or your choice of backsplash, or something, lest it look a bit random. (That would be true of either brown or gray, although gray has the mystique of trendiness.)

thanks for the opinions. however I do feel that the floor is far too busy to take a cabinet with heavy grain.

ACM. as the cabinets are to be white I am inclined to go for a little contrast there as I don't want the place to look too clinical and there isn't much room beyond some soft furnishings.
