I have a Vigo soap dispenser, because it came with the faucet. It works perfectly. I would also recommend the Never M-T kit. This is a tube that replaces the small bottle with a Costco-size container of dish soap. We haven't had to change the bottle in over a year.

I love my soap dispenser. It's a Grohe, but I don't know which one. As to them not working, sometimes they are not broken, just clogged with thickened soap. It's an easy fix. Fill a tall glass with hot water, and stick the pump in the glass of hot water, and keep pumping until the line is clear. Takes 3 minutes and works great. Also, when I switched to Seventh Generation dish soap, which is a thinner dish soap, I never experienced another clog.

Another tip - when looking at soap dispensers, look at the spout length. Most of the spout lengths are more or less similar, but some soap dispensers have a shorter spout length, leading to drips down the side of the sink, instead of on your sponge or whatever.

I could never go back to having the soap bottle on the sink ledge instead of the soap dispenser. Not only doesn't look nice, but as the soap bottle empties it always is tipped over. So annoying.

Have had soap dispensers in kitchen and bathrooms in present and past homes. No problems whatsoever. Would also highly recommend Never-MT (see link) to avoid the hassle of refilling. You do have to pump it a while to get soap started, but after that it works well and dependably. Link below ...

We have an "Ultimate" (no idea) in the kitchen and a Delta in the bathroom, both from Amazon. Both work well, are easy to refill, and don't drip.

P.S. In our previous home I put a Never MT under the kitchen sink. Never could get it to work.

I have Kohler soap dispensers that have worked for over 8 years now.

The one at the prep sink has dish soap; the one at the cleanup sink has hand soap.

My DH prefers to be able to squirt dish soap anywhere in the sink, so that's why we put the hand soap in the one at the cleanup sink.

We also have the NeverMT and only have to refill the dispensers a couple of times a year, max!

(The Kohler dispensers do have a nice size soap reservoir, so if you don't like the NeverMT, you don't need to get one.)

Koehler in kitchen and laundry room and both work fine.

I have the Kohler model. My faucet is a Hansgrohe. The finishes were identical. I paired it with the NeverMT. What a great little find at GW. I liked it so much I ordered one for my prep sink dispenser, too.

Ours is a Moen and matches the faucet. It works well and is a huge improvement over a bottle of soap on the counter.

I've had a Moen for years and added a Never MT over a year ago, Just finally needed a new large soap bottle under the sink! I like it even to wash my hands after handling raw meat. It is dish soap but I can pump some without touching the pump with the raw meat part of my hands and also flip up the tap without contaminating things. I probably do that daily, not to mention not having a bottle of soap cluttering the top of my counter.

No idea what I have (or had). Neither were a name that I recognized, and neither of them gave me any problems.

Serious question: Why do some people have a dispenser for hand soap AND a dispenser for dish soap? When I wash my hands in the kitchen, I use dish soap. Is this wrong for some reason?

I do the same thing, use dishsoap for hand washing in the kitchen. Too much trouble to keep 2 soaps!

I have two because I'm absolutely addicted to the smell of Mrs Meyer's Parsley hand soap but I don't use scented soaps on my dishes.

I love mine, it came with the sink, it was a cheap one from lowes. I love the dispenser. Much easier than keeping a bottle around the sink. We use dish soap for hanwashing as well. Only thing is, someone needs to fill it when it's empty.! And of course, it always needs refilling. Lol

Anyone have one that puts out foam? I love my foaming countertop soap dispenser and don't want to go back to using straight soap but having an installed dispenser again would be great.

@P G, check out the never MT dispenser. Never MT You attach it to a very large bottle of soap like you get from Costco and don't have to always be re-filling. I have had some issues where some soap escapes from where it connects together. Not sure why but I still like it.

What is he proposing using, bar soap? I would take a soap dispenser over a bar any day of the week. Should it be a built-in? It's one more thing to clean around or it's another thing to sit on top of your counter. If you end up with countertop, I would expect that you would get a beautiful bottle for it and not use the bottle with the advertising label on it directly from the grocery store. I think it's really a matter of personal preference. My husband was a big proponent of bar soap. No matter what you do, the soapdish is just disgusting. I couldn't get that out of the kitchen fast enough.

Pratigal, I hate bar soap too. I have an exchange student right now who insists on using it in the shower. Those goopy bars make me crazy . I want a built in dispenser, husband wanted stand alone, but I think I have finally convinced him.

I moved into a house with a nonfunctional 25+year old Franke. Replaced it with a cheapie from Home Depot. Worked great until I moved. Remember, these things aren't that hard to replace if they DO fail.

Hey silken...just looked that dispenser up, way cool. Thanks for the tip. By the way, when I fill up my dispenser, soap always spills out, as it's impossible to see how much is pouring in. What a mess lol.

P House, If you get the NeverMT attachment, you will never have that problem.

My kitchen will be demolished next month. I will be getting Delta soap dispenser in quartz counter tops. I also plan to get Never M-T thingie.

Do I need the plumber to install it or can my husband install it?

I have two soap dispensers in my kitchen. We use hand soap in the one on the prep sink and dish soap in the other. We are using two different soaps, because dish soap is too harsh for my BF's skin. I bought the NeverMT, but we haven't hooked it up yet. We're just one month into the new kitchen and we really like having the soap dispensers. We've had to refill the dish soap dispenser once already, so I think that the one that will get the NeverMT.

sahai6, I would guess that your counter installers will cut the hole and install it when they cut the other holes for your faucets and install them.

Oh, it attaches to your soap dispenser. Instead of using the reservoir that comes with the soap dispenser you in effect use the long tube of the NeverM-T to connect to an even larger reservoir of the economy-sized soap container sitting below.

Here is an under-sink photo of the Never M-T installed. It is simply a tube that connects your dispenser above the counter, to a large container of dish soap below.

You are going to be astonished at the simplicity of the NeverMT device. One word of advice for everyone who installs it, keep the extra adapter fittings on the tube. We changed our brand of soap and we needed a different adapter that was included. Fortunately, I had kept the adaptors dangling on the line. That will make more sense once you get the kit. You are going to be pissed that you didn't think of the idea. Works great.
