How do you transfer a pattern?

February 17, 2017

How do you transfer a pattern onto a quilt to be cross-stitched? I need the pattern to wash out after finishing the cross-stitch. I went to a Joann's and asked for help, but they couldn't help me. Thanks in advance!

I just saw this - are you referring to a stamped pattern? I have never used a stamped cross stitch.

Years ago a group of women at my workplace - about 8 of us - each cross stitched a picture; one of us also quilted and she put the separate cross stitched pictures together on a quilt - each of the cross stitched pictures was a square and then she added fabric to make it a quilt.

You might try waste canvas instead.

years ago I was told by someone at Aunt Martha's that if I could find a way to

wash out the ink to let them know.

Waste canvass is a great idea!
