Is Ben Carson's wife's real name Lacena? The only properties in Palm Beach Gardens owned by a Benjamin Carson is in the gated communities of Old Palm (nice) and also the gated community of Ibis. In both records its written as Benjamin Carson & Lacena.

Yes, it definitely has a mcmansion vibe but it's not that bad. The foyer seems to be the worst part. That house would easily sell for twice as much in my town. I am surprised that the back of the house is vinyl siding. I wonder where else the builder cut corners.

The picture above comes across as narcissistic to most, but if you are familiar with his religion that artist is popular in his circles. The artist makes lots of pictures of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professions with Jesus near them. It is suppose to represent Jesus guiding them to help others through their work.

He worked long and hard to make his mark in the world - and did he ever! I'm glad his mom lived to see his success.

While those aren't homes or décor I'd want to live in, I'm glad for him and Candy if it's what they want. the new home is probably as it was when bought.

People may not like this guy b/c of his politics, but he grew up poor in the inner city and become one of the world's most renowned brain surgeons and saved and changed many lives, including by giving scholarships and building libraries for schools.

If he wants to display his awards because he's really proud of what he did, more power to him.

I still thinks it's, well, unusual. And the people I know with similar or greater accomplishments don't display their awards or medals in their homes. Of course, they are proud of them, but the fact they received them is sufficient. (Regardless of their beginnings.)

The people that I know that are his religion are very humble. I know many highly successful people in his religion and they are humble, so humble that if they have some awards or metals displayed other people wouldn't think poorly of them.

He performed brain surgery on my nephew. I don't agree with his politics at all (or his forays into being a politician or his taste him homes), but he is/was a brilliant surgeon and his story is inspiring.

While I wouldn't do it, it doesn't bother me if someone puts up their awards in a game room or office. Over the fireplace in the living room is a different story.

When my son was in high school, he went to a meeting at a classmate's home in Great Falls, Virginia. He came home impressed with the pictures on the wall in a public area of the house. What impressed him the most were pictures of his classmate with two popes, "but not at the same time," he added. Of course, a photo with the pope is not exactly the same as a painting with Jesus.
