Wow! I'm surprised your presence didn't scare him away.

I baby talk to the lizards lol

I love these little guys even though they are not native. it is those stinking cuban tree frogs i hate! they eat our native frogs

I love them because they eat the gross bugs like roaches!! Yuck.....awe, I love frogs too but I had no idea they are each other....I have this lamp in the front yard and I used to have fake frogs sitting around it. The real frogs or toads would come and sit right next to them. It was the cutest thing :)

    Lydia,

    So you're a lizard whisperer? (:o)

Happy to have motorbike frogs in the garden, but they always give me a fright when they pop up as I'm pottering. Here's a big girl keeping cool in my carnosa krinkle 8. They like hanging baskets because they can catch a breeze. But how did she get up there?

Talk about a fright....a skink must have gotten into one of my pots or it hitched a ride in a package so one night when I was moving my pots around (in my little portable greenhouse) it jumped out!! Scared the bejeezus out of me. My poor husband was chasing it around the room to catch and release.

I get scared easily and I'm a screamer but I love those little critters!

I need some of those metal hangers for terracotta pots!!

lydia you are funny! I can see you freaking and screaming!

Yes, you don't want me in a car with you lol especially if I'm not driving!

I got those pots from gumtree. They are specialty orchid pots i think, they already had the little holes to fit the wire hangers. I wish I could find some more, I only managed to get one set of 10.

I'd love to find some of these pots too. Perfect for hoyas and orchids.

More little critters...enjoying the milkweed vine a little to much

    someone needs a diaper hehe

You guys who live where lizards and frogs are common are lucky. I'm jealous when I see these pics! Closest thing I ever get are little garter snakes... and I rarely even see those. Oh, the perils of living north!

I noticed that they sleep every night in the same spot.

I did notice that with the one in the first pic. He likes fungii to sleep on...I feel bad when I water. They run for the hills!!

Hey Lydia, what is the name of the hoyas your lizard friend is sitting on in the last couple of photos? Also... Giant Godzilla lizard on left! lol.

Its Hoya merillii....yes, it's a huge lizard decoration from Hobby lobby :-P

I wish I was so lucky to be able to grow my Hoyas outside, but alas, my patio is WAY too scorching... So the Hoyas get to watch me play outside from the window... while I make my own soil for them, chase lizards, or tend to my tougher children.

    My new soil sifters!!! <3

Great pictures!! Cool looking lizards! Nice of them to let you handle them :)

    Lol had to share

I was minding my own business hanging Hoyas and there they were

This pic is cute, I swear :-P

wouldn't have seen him of he hadn't turned his head to look at me.

It's like where's Waldo! I had to look twice before I saw him. lol

I've loved the little green anoles since childhood, but those nasty Cuban tree frogs are wiping them out here in Florida. These frogs are such voracious eaters that Florida's native species are quickly becoming endangered! These Cuban frogs are now considered such an invasive non-native species that we citizens are being asked to help get rid of them. The Florida Wildlife Extension even explains how! Wearing rubber gloves, grab the frog and quickly apply benzocaine to its belly Then remove the glove by pulling it over the medicated frog, tie a knot in the glove and pop it into the freezer for a few days before disposing of it. I have been doing this for over a year and have been seeing more and more of our native critters!

    Because of this

    we get this
we got a bunch of babies all over the place :-D

Lots of spiders around also. Couldn't get focused :-/

I know spiders are good to have around because they eat bugs but they kinda freak me out.

He spins a very cool web though :-)

I love the splashy leaves that spider is on. Is it a Pubicalyx? Very pretty.

Its Pubicalyx Pink silver splash. I'll send you a started cutting.

You're the best! Thank you :-)

We have a similar spider here called the St Andrews Cross Spider that makes that X on it's web... I'm going to guess they are related.

sorry I could not catch either of my garden friends on "film" (what is that anyway??). I had a black racer in the shade house a few days ago and then saw him in the lawn a couple of days later. I also have a racer in the front yard. Very camera shy. :-)

Lydia what is with the bugs and lizards in compromising situations??? hmmm??

Lol thought it was funny and cute at the same time. Hey, if it's in my garden I'm taking pics!

Triffidmoss, I thought this spider was make itself look bigger and more intimidating. We get lots of crab spiders. I think that's what they are called.

Lol, those two anoles were looking like " a little privacy please".

These are some of my garden friends (and/or foes) lol (some photos taken a while back)

You have deer!! I love them! I love in the city. Don't get to see those....I have seen preying mantice babies around. They are so cute!
