Rug manufacturers are not always ULTRA detailed when it comes to describing the different colors and tones in a given design (similar to the way that artists of prints/wall art don't always provide a list of colors and tones used in their designs) but the product is described as being "beige" which usually means that there are beige and brown notes. Grey tones may be part of the equation as they certainly wouldn't clash with the design in any way but we usually speak about this style as being "beige and brown"

As far as the pile, it is a lower pile rug, yes! It's made of high quality olefin yarn which means that it is very soft to the touch and should have some bounce to it but also is able to be vacuumed and spot cleaned with relative ease :)
