I am in a replanting phase replacing older no longer productive peaches and plums in zone 8b/9a in SW Louisiana, I am staggering the planting this time adding 2-3 trees per year so they will not all get old and non productive at once again however many years down the line. Until now I have been concentrating on Peaches with 3 new peach trees planted over the last 18 months or so. For the next phase I am moving towards the Plums, Pluots, and the like. I have 3 on order now a Tri-Lite Peach/Plum, a Flavor Grenade Pluot and a Moldavian european Plum. I have read that the Tri-Lite is self fertile, but that the Flavor Grenade Pluot needs a pollinator either an Asian Plum or another Pluot.

This brings me to my questions, will Tri-Lite cross pollinate with Flavor Grenade, and if not would it be smart to wait a year or two before adding a pollinator for the Flavor Grenade.

p.s. I don't know what varieties the old no longer productive Plum trees are, they still bloom some, but have little if any fruit production. (think not dead yet, but getting close)
