Hi everyone. Some nearby friends with a garden recently gave me a good sized part of the root ball and branches from their raspberry shrub. We are located in NYC, Zone 7b.

Because I only have acess to a small balcony, and part of our rooftop, all my gardening is done in containers. I potted up the raspberry that they gave me, and within just a few weeks, it's grown rapidly. It's been up on the rooftop, but on the side of the rooftop entryway, so it has a bit of protection from all-day direct sun as well as wind.

Soil is Fox Farm, along with lots of perlite and fair amount of vermiculite, topped with coconut/coir mulch. Superthrive added to watering process, after potting up the plant.

Even shortly after I first got the plant, I noticed some of the leaves looked like they might have some type of mold or whatever...they were a bit silvery.... My friend suggested I cut off those ends parts of the stem, where those silvery leaves were more prominent. I also sprayed the plant leaves (tops and undersides) with a mix of water, neem oil, cinnamon and a bit of castille soap.

While the plant seems very happy, overall...getting very big...and I can see some flowers have developed...I'm still seeing some leaf discoloration, bordering on a silvery tinge. Is it possible that...the fact that the plant is in between the rooftop entryway AND some beams that house all the buildings A/C units...that maybe it's not getting enough air circulation. Could that be the cause of whatever is causing the leaves to discolor...turn silvery...or at the very least, maybe that particular location is not helping matters? Any thoughts?
