Very nice bloom, Carol. Congratulations on this double bloom. The leaves definitely have an appearance of a Somalense white mid-rib & veining. Others such as Crispum can give this long and Lance shaped leaves.

Either way bloom is beautiful. Will be interesting to see if there is any difference on second blooming.

Hmmm...I never even thought that my plants could be something other than obesum, as that's what I bought. I know that Ko produces hybrids though, so maybe... Now I'm going to be impatiently waiting for the others to start budding out!

Hi Carol, WOW, this is beautiful. Absolutely LOVE IT. Yes, it reminds me of an orchid too. I love all the highly patterned lines in the bloom. I have Adenium Envy now. Please post more photos when your others come into bloom.

Oh, what a NICE seedling! I like it better than the 'parent' plant. Congratulations! I have one budding that I'm eager to see bloom myself.

I believe that top picture is Adenium Somalense and second one is Adenium Obesum hybrid.

It's so interesting just how different the seedlings can be from the parent. I definitely did not purchase anything other than adenium obesum hybrids because I wanted to try my hand with the more familiar variety first, so I'm very happy to have different ones in my little nursery.

This one is the other possible parent, but the leaves are more rounded, so I just assumed it was the other one posted in the OP...Excellent Lover

Congratulations, Carol! I bet your plant is a double. The first wave of inflorescence is usually erratic but you'll know for sure in the second one. On the other hand it's also common for some plants put out both doubles and singles, even an occasional triple. It looks like one of my obesum x crispum crosses. Well done.

My Ko seedlings from 7/2016. Some I still have and a couple are ones that my friends adopted from that batch. All are first time bloomers except the second from the bottom which is the second one from the one at the beginning of this thread.
