    'SWIRLING ORANGE'

Fabulous roses and photos! Love them all but I'm especially taken by Swirling Orange; I couldn't find it in HMF though. Is there a reason you've got the name in quotation marks?

Wooooooweeeeee. Love part 2 too!! Lots and lots of beauties.

Ann, I don't know much about this rose. It comes from Home Depot. Several people have posted pics of it over the yrs. I guess it's just a name they put on the tag. Actually, mine was in a 2gal pot and the tag just said "orange striped rose." I use that name only because others have called it that. I'm kind of wondering if it's actually the Coiner rose I just bought as a bagged bareroot this yr at HD called PARTY HARDY. The pic on the package looks a lot like this. Most of their roses come from Coiner Nursery.

I really love the color of SOUVENIR DE PIERRE GUILLOT.

I hope you'll post PARTY HARDY for us to see if it is indeed SWIRLING ORANGE. Mine did have that name on the pot (2 gal. - Home Depot).

Swirling Orange bud being less apricot.

We are now over 33 inches of rain and this cypress uprooted across the road during wind/rain storm night before last. About 30 feet tall. Forgive me for going off topic.

Lovely rose Irisgal! Is Swirling Orange fragrant?

That was a 'marathon' of lovely roses. Delightful.

Wow irisgal. You wouldn't think something so big would be uprooted like that. Crazy!!!

Ann, I have never detect a scent. Have you Beth?

Thanks irisgal - I won't miss having Swirling Orange so much since I'm only buying fragrant roses now.

It's a wonder more trees aren't coming down given the rain apocalypse we just lived through. My back yard turned into lake yesterday but it's starting to look like a garden again.

Swirling orange is a really unique and beautiful color combo! I wonder if Peach Swirl will end up looking like that too. It's new, and a few of us have it this year so I guess we will find out! Ann... that one is supposed to be fragrant. ;)

Stranger is so pretty. I love the subtle light lavender and white stripes.

Beth you know I might have some extra Fortuniana (virus free from UC Davis) that's already rooted for budding. If ever you want some... lemme know. You have so many that I would love a few cuttings of! :)

What a perfect bud of 'Shelia's Perfume'.

All these roses are something to look at when there is nothing outside going on. Thanks for the look.

Beth, where did you get that Souvenir de Pierre Guillot? That is too pretty to ignore. It goes back to 1928. I have not seen it listed in the Combined Rose List books. I am quite curious.

Got that one from Vintage Gardens probably 8-10yrs ago. I miss them....

    Let's not forget Sterling Silver

I do have to say though that it takes the bush quite a number of years before the blooms display the huge magnificent shape shown in the picture.

The fragrance is medium strength (maybe slightly more) but has the most perfect smell, like true damask mixed with freshly cut lemon. (it's not the lemon disinfectant of other roses like Barbra Streisand)
