It would be less expensive if you buy 2 new trees and offer these other 2 to anyone who wants to dig them out themselves.

That's so disappointing. I put a lot of effort and research into these babies. They led me here.

Kelly, I think you can move them without issues. You just need to dig far enough around them so you grab most of their feeder roots. I just relocated a bearss lime in my yard that had been in the ground for over 2 years and now it's starting flush with growth and flowers. I even cut a few large roots to get it out of its original spot. What I do is take a spade shovel and push it into the ground as deep as I can in a circle around the tree. You will hear roots getting cut but don't freak out, it's what you have to do to get it moved. Then gently move the shovel back and forth as it's in the ground to separate the root ball from the ground. Work your way around the tree until you've made it all the way around and the tree is loose. Measure the diameter of the rootball and dig the new location to match it. I'd make sure you have the new hole mostly dug out in preparation for the tree that way when you pull the tree out it's only out of the ground for the time it takes to move it from the old location to the new one. Then lift the tree out with the help of the shovel underneath the root ball and by the trunk and put it in the new location, backfill and water in very well. It will probably get stressed for a couple weeks but should be ok once it gets re-established. I think your trees are young enough that they should survive. As for the nectarine I am not sure because I have no experience growing them. Hope this helps.

ground to ground same day should not be a problem for trees that size; they may suffer a little transplant shock; but they will recover.
