Kids will be kids that eventually will grow up and white cabinets will need to be wiped down at least once a week to keep their pristine look. I wipe them down after cooking if a spill or drip is present , you wont go crazy if they are kept clean.

Do you not clean cabinets that are not white?

My cabinets are white, but finished with glossy laminate by Formica. Very easy to maintain, and extremely durable.

So I take it you want wood cabinet doors and not a door made of a laminate material? Wood doors with an engraved pattern will need regular cleaning. Dust, oils and food will build up and Windex window cleaner is not recommended to clean wood. I would also refrain from using Pledge on kitchen cabinet doors. So If you want wood cabinets regardless of the color it will need cleaning.

Mine are white & original (1948) & well painted with oil based enamel. I'm a really messy cook and I haven't had any problems with them. Now the white floor - I hated. And changed.
