Not exactly sure what you mean by your "filter" died?... do you mean the pump? Can you post a photo of your filter system, is it an out of the water filter system?

Yes, it was the pump. . the pump and filter were inside the pond. Can't post a pic.

Other variables to consider - water temperature, the cooler the better. Are you currently feeding? Stop if you are. Got a source for a replacement pump nearby? You should be able to make it 2 - 3 days no problem.

If you are not running a pump/filter then what about oxygenation?

Pls provide more info- conceivably could work for a short period if water temp is very cool (40-50) and fish dormant and not eating.... but still ammonia will be building up from their respiration - more slowly perhaps but it will still be toxic and a problem. You would have to do frequent, substantial water changes to avoid this.

Also you are pretty heavily stocked for that size pond - koi adult size being about 3 ft long. If it was me Id take this opportunity to find new homes for at least a couple of them, and maybe some of the goldies as well.

According to the dimensions given you have a pond of 628 gallons. That means you can keep about 30 inches of fish in it without a filter.

I would say your pond is overstocked without a filter. You also ultimately only have room for one full sized koi. You'd probably be well served by just getting rid of the koi and keeping goldfish in a pond that small.

Goldfish of a size fitting the pond can manage without any filter or aeration. I know a couple of people that have them in their horse troughs and they do just fine eating only mosquito larvae. My pond is 400 gallons with 8 4-6" goldfish and they have been there 6-8 years without a filter, but I do aerate with a small solar waterfall in summer.
