Yes, there seems to be a menagerie of different products available these days. Glacial Rock dust, Gaia, Black sand, etc. Hard to know.

Blooming takes a lot of energy from the plant. I wonder how detrimental to the young seedlings blooming at age 6/7 months is. Are there harmful effects to the plants' general health?

Still, I can certainly use a booster like this for my cactus, other succulents, and older plants. It's amazing what Alma's seedlings are doing!!

I read somewhere that the Adenium breeders are coming out with new Adenium hybrids that flower early. Only good breeders and good hybrid seeds can produce such beautiful early bloomers.

this is what he used. He used it as a spray because supposedly it was okay on the foliage. But as Maria Elena, knows, it burned the leaves and left a thick coating. Some I had to cut down because of the leaf loss. Now they are thick with branching. And look good and some as you know are flowering.

All these added nutrients and specialty fertilizers that are available make me dubious as to their use. Without knowing the cause, not necessarily a good idea to mess around with adding too much. End result could mean losses.

Southern AG micro-nutrients with high 5% iron to prevent chlorosis or leaf yellowing. It's supposed to be safe as a foliar drench but I know many of Alma's plants suffered leaf burn and I think she may have even lost a few???

Alma, I don't believe this is what's sending your seedlings into early bloom. We swapped some from this batch and none of mine are blooming. Also, my fertilizers contain all these micro-nutrients at a lower level and I feed my plants every week.

Maybe it's the ash from your regional fires!

No, I did not loose any thank godness.

Well we have been smokey and ashy for a month now. Some had started to bloom before then. So who knows.

Alma, what soil are you using?

Very little soil. I use the local feed and garden store brand of cactus blend and miracle grows cactus blend. I add grow stones, lava beads, pumice, reptile bark, and perlite.

... and not fertilizing weekly? I think the lava beads and grow stones are providing the nourishment that are making these bloom early.

Can someone tell me a little more about lava beads and where do you purchase them from?

Those Lava Beads look like and are also sold as Leca Clay Pebbles or Hydroton. Another product similar but a little smaller is Hydrocorn.

Omg, Im so embarrased of the progress of my 6 months old tiny Adenium babies. Do you think they went dormant in the Aussie winter? They got a bit fat, thats all, not much taller since 2 months ago.

I'm not sure. Maria Elena and Rick are the ones with knowledge. Hopefully they will chime in. I have some that are small still. I have some from riona that have done nothing. I think they are about 10 months old.

At least You were able to winter them. I'm sure I will loose some this winter. I won't be providing the heat and lights like I did this past winter. As it was I lost 4 adults over the winter months.

Ha, Ha, Agartha ... You made me laugh with your comment about being embarrassed by the size of your seedlings. Don't be. Each seedling will grow at its own pace. Yes, it is very likely that your seedlings are stunted by cold. Our Jan/Feb overnight lows fall to 68/70 and that was enough to stunt a batch of mine. Be happy that you successfully overwintered them. Feed in spring and provide lots of sun ... They will reward you with new & larger leaf development as they once again take off and grow.

Well here's another bloom from a different KO blue spirit plant. Doesn't look at all like the other but very pretty.

Very beautiful, the bloom bigger than the young plant :)

Alma, this one is very beautiful and actually looks closer to 'Excellent Lover' in blend of colors.

Lol, yes it is and yes it does. I don't think they got mixed, but then my husband had, had a cple beers when he started to help transplant. I guess we shall see what else I get.

Well heres another 7 month old plant with a bloom. Not gonna even say which it's suppose to be, because it doesn't resemble it.
