Crinum's
usually have a hardiness to Zone 5 at the most. I've been given some
in years past from a friend in OK and I have struggled to get more than 2 years
out of them before they Succumb to our winters.
With careful planting (close to foundation) and winter protection they
may surprise your cousin and provide years of enjoyment
