I used to work for Pottery Barn, while I was in design school, and sold their sofas. Great product because the sofas are manufactured by Mitchell Gold. In regards to the fabric, generally fabrics have to pass a rubs test. A machine used to perform the test will rub against the fabric 1000 to 2000 times before the fabric tears. A customer service person at PB should be able to answer questions about the rubs test. Also ask about fabric color last, the electricity of the fabric and warranty on the fabric.
