Guest bedroom

My guest bedroom is 11x11 with 8' ceiling. I have brown wood furniture, bed frame not in room yet. I would like to do something dramatic on the headboard wall. I already have a lot of wood in bedroom. Doors and molding are knotty alder and I have wood blinds. I love the ship lap look. Was thinking about wood or I could paint a color since I already have a lot of wood. I'm open for suggestions, thanking you in advance.

Since you already have a lot of wood in the room, I would suggest a painted accent wall...do you have any photos to share?

I would not do a wood headboard. If you already have a wood headboard, then I would paint it black and use white bedding. If you don't already have a headboard, then I would get either a light colored upholstered one or a decorative metal one. I would not get more wood in that room fighting with whatever that wood door is.
