Since there are some years the bulbs spend much of the winter poking above ground, what, exactly, do you think they need protection from?

I think your little garden will be ok since nothing has begun to bloom yet, but covering your plants with a sheet couldn't hurt anything.

The sustained cold snap we had last year in April destroyed all my daffodil blooms and foliage alike, but that was later in the year when everything was more vulnerable.

Ok. I have hyacinth buds coming out of the ground, like they do, which is what I'm mostly concerned about.

It's hard to say. I've had crocuses blooming in the snow before, unharmed. If you're worried about the hyacinths, you could cover them for the next few days until the cold streak passes.

I have daffodil foliage up about 6 inches already, but crocus just peeking out. I have a Honeysuckle vine just planted last fall, with open leaves on it. I do plan on covering that.

I have Hellebores coming up and they have buds on them already and one has open leaves. Last year in that same area, I had 3 Hellebore plants that were fully open and all the foliage and buds died in a late cold period. So I am definitely planning on covering those.

I'm thinking of putting some milk jugs with the bottoms cut off, over them and a sheet over that. For the vine, I guess a sheet will have to do, with crossed fingers. But there are too many daffodils to cover. Last year I tried putting turned over pots over some of them, but the foliage was so tall, they were bent over from the pots, which I didn't like either. So, no probably not covering them this year.

My taller daffodils are now all floppy after the cold. Will they spring back up or are they just going to bloom close to the ground?
