Congratulations! You could paint the faceframe a different color as the doors and you could even have different colors on the doors and the drawer fronts. It depends how much work you want to do. I painted my very young son's dresser a bold cobalt blue with yellow drawers. You could go bold, you could go pastel.

I would replace the handles with something more modern or perhaps whimsical since it is a nursery. And I would get rid of the scalloped trim piece in front of mirror. If you have to have the trim piece, make it a straight edge.

I kinda like the scalloped trim for a baby's room. I would paint or wallpaper the alcove behind the mirror and repaint the cabinets in a shiny white. You can remove the existing hardware and spray paint blue or some other colour pulled from the bedding or curtains.
