Is it so bad/difficult that no one has any ideas on how to help?!? yikes!

What a great room! Love the birdcage! I would start by putting the birdcage in the corner where the palm is in picture #1. Then a large plant in the opposite corner in the same pic. The scale of the furniture of the previous owners is perfect. I would put a similar size sofa facing the large bank of windows, and somewhat centered with your smaller opening in the wall, with enough room between the back of the sofa and your solid wall for a comfortable walkway. Angle a chair in the corner that has the hanging plant (pic #2) and another chair at an angle on the other side of the sofa. Choose a smaller coffee table to allow for more room. Add a small desk or table in the same spot in photo #2 where previous owners had what looks like a computer table. Hang a large piece of artwork on the wall above the desk in a square shape if possible. I would frame out the opening in the wall with molding that is stained in the same color as the rest of the wood in the room. A round rug in the walkway, centered between the french doors and the large opening in the wall, would be lovely with a table or ottoman in the center. Purchase a complimentary rug for underneath the sofa/chairs seating area. Hope that helps!

Susan Mills has a great suggestion. That furniture arrangement is genius for this room! Love the idea of the seagrass rolled arm chairs too. Some tropical fabric with butter yellow background and large scale greens and flowers would look really nice.

thanks for the tips! This will definitely be used for more relaxing/entertaining. We also have a formal living room, but since this is right off the kitchen I think it will flow when we have people over.

I think putting the main seating facing the outdoors is a wonderful idea. You could have a seating area at one end and a dining area at the other, if you wanted.
Ikea has clever sofa/chair pieces so you can choose how large or small a sofa you want, by adding pieces. They even have armless chaises, if you wanted a "sofa" with a chaise. They have 2 dining tables that fold (1 folds down to 8"x 24") to fold out of the way. They also have bench/ storage pieces...

The first thing I thought of is putting something directly in front of the doorway from the kitchen/dining area to draw you into the room. Maybe a seating area with a chaise, small table and chair? Pulled slightly toward the doors to the left as you come in from the house? Something inviting that will also allow for conversation from the house to the sunroom. (cooking and chatting) Maybe a settee and coffee table? What kind of furniture are you looking for? How many people would you like to seat at one time comfortably? I love the room! :D A small table and chairs for a breakfast area could work in that spot also.

So pleased to read the words no TV in here ! We should all have a room that's TV free !!!

Paint the ceiling and trim the same color as the walls (I would do a very light color). You can leave the beams plain or paint them... either way, that will lighten up your sunroom even more and make it looks tons bigger...

Great tips thank you! I'm planning to paint the walls a very light sand color, and all the trim painted white (including the ceiling!). As for furniture I think we would like for it to comfortably seat 4ppl but room for more, if needed. I'm open to furniture ideas
