Where you located? I have a seedling grown maple that I'd like trialed for hardiness. I will be layering it this year and am looking for a cold zone 5 or zone 4 for a trial. An outstanding tree that survived to -20F with no die back after a November transplant with minimal roots.

I used to plant a lot of seed so don't know if this palmatum, shirasawanum or possible hybid

I'm in the northern end of Utah. We are a cold zone 5. The coldest we saw it this winter was -17 and that is somewhat unusually cold. I would love to plant one of those. It's a pretty looking tree.

You'll love North Wind. I think it has the best form of the current upright hybrids. Very nice branch structure.

I, too, look forward to seeing their new cultivars, but they better hurry up and release them! I'm running out of room. ;)
