The owner has not spoken of any issues with the grass. Really the big problem they had was with an out-of-frame pine tree that was dropping needles everywhere. And given that the grass is well cared for here, mud has not been an issue. We also made sure that the pool coping sloped away from the water to eliminate any run-off from entering the pool.

Clearly your groundsman will need to exercise care when mowing, but I don't think it will be too big a deal.
