What kind of gule or adhesive is used

I was wondering what kind of glue is used to keep the button on the tack. I made some with hot glue and when I pulled the tack/button off the bulletin board they seperated. I am will use these for a table seating bulleting board that will have cards with guests names on them. We will pull the card and hand it to the guest at the reception so I want to make sure they won't come apart. Thanks so much!
