I need help....what do I get?

Hello! I need help! I have an open floor concept. My main floor living room, dining room, and kitchen are in an open space. My kitchen and dining room are contemporary with a hint of rustic and elegance. For example, my dining room table is a round distressed white with light grey tufted chairs and a crystal chandelier. My kitchen has white cabinets with a black tone granite. In saying this, I have no idea what to do with the living room. It will not be used much because I have a den and family room that are used, so i want it to look elegant but welcoming so when we do entertain. The only thing I did was buy this couch that I fell in love with! My question is....what kind or color coffee table, chair(s) and rug do I buy? I like neutral and whites. This couch is microfiber light beige/tan. The nailheads are silverish. I love contemporary, rustic, shabby chic decor.....HELP!

Next will be a rug because it will provide the inspiration for the room. I am choosing this one because it has some of the colors of the room, now, but gives you a couple more colors you can use for accents. Here you have your sofa color, wall color, and there is a gorgeous gray, deep yellow and a charcoal. Yummy!

Please help me as to what to plant in 4 separate flower beds by my front door. I want the "welcome factor"!
The beds in question are the "color area" of my landscaping.
FYI, you see 6 beds in the picture, but the 2 beds furthest away from the front door already has an ornamental grass planted, so I need advice just on the 4 beds nearest the front door.
To be specific, I live in College Station, Tx. The flowerbeds face 200* South. Part to Full sun!
The soil isn't acidic....not sure you need to know that. I have Liriope Big Blue, red Knockout Roses and red Bottlebrushes everywhere, so that's not to be considered for the 4 beds in question. Also, there are many evergreen plants and trees around the house...hard to see, because some are small and others have been pulled out because they died during the first frost. My home is new construction, hence young plants.

I agree get a nice area rug. Then add 2 chairs to go across the couch. I would do a circular coffee table and matching side table to go in between the chairs. Then add a large
Mirror on whichever wall reflects the most light and nice piece of artwork to complement your rug colors for the other wall
