light issues?

Mine have looked similar under lower light. I think the plants adjust and make their "solar panels" larger. They seemed to grow fine other than that. Perhaps a bit slower.

This plant was dormant when I got it, then immediately began to leaf out; and ran a full out bloom.

I'll take some better pics, the ones above were taken under my HPS lights. (They're definitely not lacking light.)

I was wondering because this plant was tagged as an obesum, but I've never seen one branch out so extensively from the caudex like that before.

I have had a few with leaves in a similar shape to yours and I believe that all these different forms of leaves are a result of all the cross pollinating they are performing on different species. Difficult to call on as a particular species these days.

I started a pack of seeds many years ago now from Ko for His cultivar "New Yellow". I started and kept all seedling do that I could see how they grew and their individual characteristics differed. This one in particular in the Photo had never been snipped, pinched or pruned in any way. It intrigued me because it was so different.

I have since pruned it to hopefully get stronger branches.

This is another with similar branching, just not as tight.

Wow, that first one is unusual. I took inventory of my Adeniums last night, and out of all my obesums; there are 3 w/ that leaf shape/trait.

Everything happened so fast w/ this plant; I barely had time to put wire on some of the branches before it leafed, and bloomed. Now that the flowers are dropping, I'll be able to get a better look at it; and finish shaping it.

I've always thought that "Arabicums", and the "Thai soco's" were the ones with natural mass caudex branching.

You know Rob. Who knows whether cross pollination has happened any of the species these days or just an anomaly of sort. Most definitely the Arabicums/TS do for sure.
