Kitchen Faucets

I am so confused! We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel in an older home (50's with slight craftsman/farmhouse nuance). I will have leathered Quartzite (TajMahal) countertop with undermount stainless sink. My unfinished cabinets with have SW Summer White translucent Stain and the walls will be painted SW Summer White. I will have brushed stainless knobs and cup pulls for cabinet hardware.

I prefer two handle faucets but I cannot decide whether they should be raised bridge faucet or if a wall mount faucet would look better. I have never had either one so what are the cons and pros of both?

First pic is of the sink area with an old sink and plywood counter we are temporarily using and the other pic is of the bar on other side of room made out of repurposed wood from a shed found on the property.

(Please excuse the mess but we had to move in early because our house sold!)

I have to make a decision by Friday for counter top to be prepared. Thanks so much for your replies.

You can always use the faucets that has more depth such as this one.....I know you said leathered quartzite but what color

Faucets mounted on the countertop have one drawback. Whenever your hands are wet and you turn off the faucet, the drips from your hands fall on the deck around the sink - and sit there. In a faucet mounted on the sink - like you have now - drips flow back into the sink.

I had planned on a bridge faucet till I visited my sister and saw that she keeps a towel by her faucet to keep drying off the area around the faucet. I changed to the one handle design of the faucet I was considering and then had that handle turned so it is mostly over the sink. For me this limits the amount of water around the faucet. I decided to have the lever on the left because even though I am right handed, I usually turn the faucet on with my left - while the right is holding something - pot, glass, whatever. Also, my drain is on the right, so the spout tends to be pointed that way and I don't want to reach around the water flow. Everyone has their own way of doing things.

Just for your info - that is a Kohler Whitehaven "short apron" farmhouse sink and can be installed on a standard sink base. Many do not know that there is a farm sink for a standard sink base.

Claire - As a natural stone my slab differs with more subtle veining but very similar. Taj Mahal has slight cream tones but enough of grey to compliment stainless

The reason why I asked is because I looked it up and saw it comes in shades of grey/tan, white/grey/tan and a deep tan......yes stainless will compliment the countertop but the oiled bronze can compliment it as well with your cabinets.

I would go with a touchless faucet to eliminate with water spot & also they look amazing. Moen 7594ESRS, Pfister GT529-ELS, Delta 980T-55D-DST , Kohler K-72218-VS. Good Luck.

I have a 2 handle wall-mount. I've had it for over 15 years and never had a problem.

I love wall mounts and am doing them in my bathroom remodel. since you are under construction, running the pipe up the wall shouldn't be a big deal for your plumber.

the pros to the wall mounts is not having to clean the muck and water deposits from around the base. the cons, I don't know of any, other than make sure you know the span/reach from the wall to your sink middle. you don't want to come up short.

and those touch-less faucets have had tons of complaints on reviews. make sure you look those over if you decide on one.
