Do you have a picture?

If you hang something in front of it you defeat the point of the vent. I assume this is a 2 storey house and there was no place else to put it.

I'm assuming the electrician put it there for a reason. Maybe only spot to vent it to the exterior? Needless to say, you can't cover it or you'll find yourself with way bigger issues if moisture/humidity is allowed to build up over time. A picture would help and back story to why you called an electrician in the first place
