A tiny crystal chandelier

i would relocate the fluer de lis -- they look a bit odd there. they are cute though, so find them another home in the room. i think I would do a great little window topper and a tiny crystal chandelier as missmdivine suggested.

I agree too much stuff around the sink. A great small chandelier would be fabulous I would use different window treatments.

I would hang the valances higher to make the windows look taller also. Then you would not feel like you needed the fluer de lis.

a metalic pendant nothing very fancy would be great.This corner has already many elements.

I agree with some of the other suggestions. A small hanging chandelier (not too fancy). Something simple and timeless.
Possibly industrial style and suitable for a kitchen.
I would remove the black decorative things above the windows once the hanging light is up as it will distract you from the beauty of the hanging light.
Remove everything on the counter behind the facets and you could possibly a few cleaning supplies with nice marketing labels (e.g.. Mrs. Myers products) or just leave it empty and let the new hanging light be the focal point.

I would go with something similar to this milk glass and chrome pendant. Remember, the sink needs task lighting! Although a mini chandelier may look cute, it won't light the work area properly.

A chandelier would be great over the sink. And they even have kits now that will allow you to retrofit a can light to accommodate them.

I think you are on the right track, but the area needs some rearranging. Valances hung too low. Get them up on the wall as high as you can with just the hem of the fabric covering the top of your venetian blinds.

I am not a fan of phony plants. You have a nice shelf there. Put one real, lovely low and wide plant there. Find another spot for the fleur-de-lis. You need a pendant, not a chandy.

chandeliers get covered with cooking residue.. so keep clean-ability in mind.. so you can give it an easy once over to keep it sparkling

I've always loved the fleur de is but yours are too big for that space...I agree with the idea to move them to a new location where their scale will work better. Do you have a table to put the chandelier over? I think it will look out-of-place over the sink. You've done a wonderful job with your kitchen! A small rug or floor cloth (that you can wipe clean) in front of the sink would tie it all together and brighten the floor.

Certainly a mini crystal chandelier incorporating some of your black, or maybe white will be dramatic, yet delicate! Try these styles for some ideas, and let us know if you need any further assistance or have any questions!

A bleached burlap drum shade pendant light with a frosted glass diffuser would look pretty and balanced. Ballard design has one that comes with a kit and goes right into the light socket above.

linlac--love the fleur de lis pendant you posted above...where is it from??

How about losing the blinds for a roman shade and using a "handerchief" pendant?

It was actually my husband that chose our pendant light over the sink to replace a can light. I am happy with it.

Window area way too busy. Elegance can be over done.

We worked with our client, Linda Hall who has commented above, to solve the lighting issue in a nearly identical layout. A tastefully chosen pendant, which in this case carries a little "bling", and under cabinet lighting provided fabulous task lighting and added style!

What Prairee ^^^ suggested would look perfect. I would remove some of the items from that space even though they are nice items. It's a bit too small for all that ;)

Ok, thank you all for the help! So I need to lose the clutter over the sink, bring in a real plant over the sink, center it, and I like the really cute chandelier idea above. I also love the idea of bringing in a rug with the bright yellow because I was actually thinking about painting the floor with a chevron pattern.
