Saving Poppy seeds?

Wondering if anybody else collects/saves Poppy seeds? My collection grows bigger & better every year. I am obsessed I think..

I have saved peony poppy seed in the past. The seeds have given me a lot of interesting and beautiful colors. This year, I am growing shirley poppies, which I have already put in containers for winter sowing. I'll probably save some seeds from these plants too. It's fun to see what kind of plants you get from the seeds you save..

I would like to start a collection of poppies. Where do you purchase your seed from? Do you have any pics?

I usually buy my poppy seeds online from a few different sources. One Stop Poppy Shoppe & Eden Brothers amongst my faves. Here are a few pics from years past..

Beautiful. I'll have to check out the website you mentioned. Do you normally just sprinkle them on bare soil?

I usually work my soil a bit with a hoe. For more even seed broadcasting mix seed with a bit of sand. Also be sure not to bury the seeds

I wintersowed poppies last year in.nursery pots and left most in the pots. Iiked being able to move the pots where I needed a pop of color in the garden. Poppies are one of my favorite flowers and im looking forward to.more varieties this year (and yes! I collect seed) Josh, I well understand your obsession!
