Pay the extra $400 for sure! 16 gauge is quieter and more durable than 18 gauge. 8" is pretty shallow.

Ok. I thought eight seemed shallow too, but since it was undermount it seemed to give me another inch so I didn't know if it was worth it to pay $400 for two more inches in depth

You're picking something that you're going to be looking at every morning when you make your coffee for a damn long time. I'd hate to start my day every day for 20 years or so with regret.

He had them on display in the showroom in different sizes and shapes that i could pick from. When i find the sheet i will post a picture. I agree with you though, the krauss 16 gauge will make me happier

The 2 extra inches make a world of difference when it comes to cleaning larger pots and pans. I've had my Kraus 2 years now and what still amazes me is how quiet it is when placing items in the sink. Mine included the metal grates for the bottom to provide a flat surface to place things on. An old photo taken after install. Also, you can purchase sink/faucet combinations ( I worked at a restaurant and love the industrial sprayer).

Thank you!! I just emailed Kraus asking questions about the difference in style numbers. I want 16 gauge, single bowl undermount. I asked about KBU14E; KHU100-32 and KHU32 Pax zero radius. I am also open to others. I will pay the extra to get a better sink. I have heard it is hard to clean the corners as opposed to the curved sides. Have you had any problem?

Definitely worth it! I love my undermount Kraus single bowl deep sink with the metal grates. It's a life changer for for sure.

Model KBU-14-32. It came with the grid and basket strainer, but I have a disposal so didn't use that. Oh, and a free bar towel!

Im getting disposal too. You have the curved corners then? Curved or squared off is a dilemma too! I know it's just a sink but i am spending a fortune on this kitchen and i dont want any regrets!!

Yes, it is rounded and so is the grid. Definitely need to take your time and research. It pays off in the end. Exciting!

I have a Kraus 16 gauge sgl sink KHU100-32 (32" x 19" x 10") and am very happy with it. Not only is it beautiful, it's quiet and solid. I was skeptical that I could get such quality at such significant savings but it's everything I wanted. The only downside for me was lack of planning regarding the disposal I chose. Because of the depth of the sink, the disposal did not play nicely in the close quartered cabinet. A compact disposal would have saved me the extra plumber's fees.

My plumber had a time with my disposal as well.

What disposal do you suggest since i have to buy it anyway?

I've got the kraus too and love it.
The corners are kind of hybrid between square and round/tight round.
Have you checked Amazon. I bought mine there for 279 while a local store was carrying it for almost double.

The corners are, in fact, gently rounded. But the corners ease quickly over a short span rather than making a big curve. So, the overall look conveyed is crisp and rectangular, which I love. I did not want a rounded look, at all, but I'd heard the sharp corners present cleaning issues, so ordered this model. I couldn't have been happier when it arrived and I saw I really could have my cake and eat it, too.

Bere and I have the same sink. I like her description of the corners as "hybrid." More succinct than what I was trying to say. ;-) Wish I could offer a suggestion on the disposal, but since the plumber was able to make the one I'd bought work in the space, I didn't research what I should have gotten in the first place.

My nephew works for a plumbing supply company. I just sent him a text and told him to check with his coworkers and see what is the best disposal for this sink. I am really excited, Thank all of you so much !! I was going to go with the sink that came with my cabinets and i was definitely settling.... it cost 279.00 extra, but well worth it! As Joseph Corlett pointed out, i will be looking at it everyday! Lol. Btw, my nephew couldnt meet amazon's price!!

The deeper you go, the harder it is on your back. Prefer an 8inch at most.
