Why not wash your hands with dish soap when using the kitchen sink? One dispenser.

I have hand soap in my dispenser. I only wash dishes once a day but I wash hands all day long, so I wanted something milder for my hands. It's no big deal to take the dish soap out from under the sink and give it a squirt.

I also use my dish soap to wash my hands. Just a little dab will do you!

Dove, Palmolive, Mrs Meyers, to name a few, make d/w soap that is mild enough for handwashing. So one dispenser w/double purpose for me.

unless you put little signs, how would people know (or care?). I can see myself constantly having to explain why two dispensers and which is which.

We use Dawn because of its grease-cutting abilities. DH is the dishwasher and thinks there's no such thing as too much dish soap. He'd wear out the dispenser trying to get enough.

I don't like the hassel of refilling the under sink dispensers, so I don't use mine. I have a decorative pump dispenser for hand soap and keep a container of Dawn in the under sink cabinet.

I dunno everyone in my family has always used separate soaps. I personally don't like washing my hands with dish soap - too drying.

If time allows, get a little bottle of the dove d/w liquid. You'll be surprised at how good it is for both purposes.

I think if you ever have visiting friends who help in the kitchen, you'll constantly be explaining which pump is which. We have one pump for dish soap, which we use for dishes and hands. We also have a powder room about 10 steps away for anyone who prefers "bathroom" soap.

I guess I'm lazy and my kitchen isn't all that decorative regarding soap. I keep a bottle of Dawn under the sink and a decorative bottle of moisturizing hand-washing soap next to the sink. I've tried those under-mounted soap dispensers and they are a pain (to me) to refill and sometimes don't even work after a while. I agree, it seems like if you have 2 you'd have to be remembering which is which.

I have a small kitchen, so only one pump near my sink. I didn't want hand soap in the kitchen. But, DH discovered that he loves Bath and Body Works foaming soaps, so alas I have one near the pump. But, I bought a decorative sleeve for it as a compromise.

Seagrass, mu kitchen sink dispenser is hard to reach, so I just remove the pump and use a funnel. It is easy for it to over flow, but after a while you get to know how much to put in.

It looks like your sink is in the peninsula. It's much easier to fill the dispenser because you fill from the back of the peninsula where it's closer to the edge. You can't do that with a window sink. I can look right into my dispenser. It has a 16 oz. bottle so it doesn't need refilling too often. A lot of people recommend the NeverMT, which pumps the soap up from the bottle that sits on the floor of your sink cabinet.

I would only put in one soap dispenser. I also have a hot water tap in the run and love it. Use it mainly to dilute my coffee or to quick wash something and need a small amount of hot water fast. I hate running water for a few minutes to get the cold water to turn hot!

I have 2 soap dispensers, and I did in my last 2 kitchens as well. I don't like using dish soap on my hands, and didn't like how "gunky" looking the bottle of hand soap looked. I have both hooked up with the NeverMT to Costco sized bottles under the sink, which I think I replace once a year. I've never had a soap dispenser fail on me. I might not have put one in this kitchen, but I replaced the faucet and side spray with a pull down, and there was already one dispenser in place.

I have two dispensers hooked up to NeverMT's.....Blanco brand. Honestly, they don't pump well and DH is always adjusting the NeverMT hookups. Next time around, I will just use two decorative dispensers on the countertop.

I don't like built in soap dispensers and have become addicted to the simple human motion based dispensers. I have two in the kitchen. One for dish soap and one for hand soap. I wash my hands a lot so I use a very soft soap for my hands. I do have labels on them and when people are helping me in the kitchen, they love the dispensers. I also have them at the bathroom sinks. I do have a filtered water faucet at the sink though

I recently changed my faucett to one that has a sprayer, so, I put

my soap despensor where I had my stand alone sprayer (right side) and

put a new despensor on the other side ( left side). I put windex in my new

despensor as I clean the mirrors and counters and appliances with windex.

It's so convenient!

Your idea for two despensors is a good one. I highly recommend it!

Reading back of the responses, I was surprised so many have

difficulty filling the despensors??? both of my pump tops just pull straight

up and I just pour the detergent (or windex) in. Am I missing something?

We went with one. We use dawn but even with washing hands all day off and on, it doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Everyone has different sensitivity to these things. As always, bottom line, do what works for YOU.

jshore, I would love to know your fail-proof dispenser's brand. I had an old Moen for 10 years that was bulletproof but no longer made. Then, like joanieponie, I switched up two a pair of $100 Blancos. One on main, one on prep sink. Total, total crap. So disheartening.

My Koehler brand soap dispenser fills easily (like Cliff and Joann's), still working like new after 8 years.

Pro- two different soaps. Con- one more thing to clean around.

Love the pros and cons and the vote to do what works for me, as well as advice on what has worked for YOU! All important considerations. I had read in older threads that some experienced enough aggravation with Never MT that they did not recommend them. I've never had one and never experienced any aggravation with filling a dispenser from the top, so I am not considering Never MT this time either.

Something just jogged my memory, though, about how the dish soap dispenser isn't helpful if it cannot be mounted closely enough that the soap dispenses INTO the sink rather than onto the counter or onto the side of the sink. So, I might make my decision after the counter fabricators tell me how close they can mount the dispenser to the sink.

They work great. Ours is on the right as we're right handed...

i never planned in having two, it's just that the extra hole became

available when we switched to the pull out spray faucett.

Now, I could't do without it. In my kitchen windex is my BFF, :)

I have one through the counter dispenser with the neverMT attachment and a giant bottle of the Costco or Kirkland dishwashing detergent. I use it for hand washing also when at the sink. I love the neverMT. My dispenser is set close to the edge so squirts into the sink.

Mine are Kohler also, as were the ones in my previous house. Those outlasted the Kohler Vinnata faucet, which I replaced with a Rohl.
