This is exactly like Vanguard's Cleo Bed by Michael Weiss

I am buying the Cleo Bed, but this Brea version is a few inches shorter in length. Why did Michael Weiss and Vanguard do these beds, with only the slight length difference. It is very confusing.

The only difference is that with Horchow you don't have a choice of fabric or wood finish. Also, the dimensions are slightly different. The Brea is a tiny bit shorter in length than the Cleo. I like Brea's length better (for my room), but I must have the ability to choose my fabric. If you buy from a furniture store you can choose from any of Vanguard's fabrics and wood color choices (as well as fabrics from other manufacturers). I like Horchow, but for furniture I must "see, touch, sit and choose". I hope this helps

I know you wrote this four months ago, but I am about to order this bed and am curious.

I *think* they are the same bed, but "Brea" might be Horchow's name for the bed. I can't find Brea mentioned anywhere but on the Horchow/Neiman Marcus websites. Everywhere else, it's the Cleo or the WL521K-HF (for King) and the WL521Q-HF (for queen).

Am I right, though, that the Brea is a Horchow-only item? Might Horchow be using the WalMart strategy? They have a famous name make something that only they sell. It looks a lot like something found elsewhere, but it has a few key differences?

I'm guessing that the Brea started off as the Cleo, but Vanguard changed something (the measurements) so the Horchow item wasn't the same as the one they sell.

Yes, you are correct. Brea is only at Horchow. Your speculation is likely correct as well.

I bought this bed from vanguard with a cream headboard and medium/dark wood frame. Want the clean lines but want more of a traditional look. I guess wood end tables. Can I pull this off?

This string is very confusing because I just contacted Vanguard Customer Service about the difference in size between the Cleo and the Brea, asking why the difference in length, and they told me both beds are the same exact size: "Thank you for your email. The dimensions of the Cleo bed should be the same as the Brea bed which is a private label for Horchow and only offered in the one fabric on their website. H 62.5 W 68 D 94 (set up). If you wish to select a different fabric I would refer you to a local Vanguard dealer in your area. You can locate one on our website vanguardfurniture.com and select where to buy.
