Insulated glass is two or three layers of glass with space between them. It is the space between panes that provides the insulation. The glass may be plain, laminated, or tempered. Spacers hold the glass in place and prevent air from entering/leaving the space between the glass. If the seal fails moisture may condense on the inside of the glass making the view foggy.

I suppose some company could be found to make custom insulated windows that large, but I'm pretty sure they would need more of a framework than yours.
