It's a perennial, so that might help. It requires acidic soil, so my knowledge of it doesn't extend much past that. I don't think it even survived one summer with my alkaline soil.

Slugs go for the new shoots when they first come up in spring. If you don't keep them off it at that time they spoil it. So although I like it, I don't grow it.
