Alternatives to Taj Mahal Quartzite

I am planning my kitchen remodel. I have seen counters in Taj Mahal quartzite. As much as I love it, I need to manage my expectations. Any suggestion of a quartz or granite which would be have the some type of color but be slightly more realistic on the price side.

Sea Pearl Quartzite. To get around the problem of cost, I used the quartzite only on the island and then a blue stone (which is a flat black) on the perimeter which helped with the overall cost. As a result the quartzite really pops. I then used biltmore from the tile store on the backsplash which closely matches the sea pearl quartzite which I did in a honed finish. If you really like a particular quartzite this may be a way to keep it in budget.

Are there any suggestions as to a granite or quartz with a similar look to Taj Mahal quartzite?

Nope. Taj Mahal is in its own league. It looks awesome because its quartzite.

Shop around. I just fixed some Taj Mahal for a guy who had two quotes. One for 18K and one for 10K. Even after paying me he still saved $7,400.00. The guy at 10 may leave your top looking like this:
