Any vine will work if you are prepared to prune and train. But bear in mind that woody vines wrap tightly around the support and maintaining the fence can become difficult. There are plenty of examples where I live including wisteria, variegated Ivy, Passion flower, trachelospermum and parthenocissus species.

Generally, vines won't grow much taller than whatever is supporting them or what they can reach to climb on above that. So not much of a worry for guiding something along the top of the iron fence. Campsis doesn't "behave" period but the honeysuckle or a clematis should work well.
