See they didn't do this last time I did wicks! It's weird. I am using a different style of pot... And a smaller wick... And fertilizer in the water. Maybe it's the fertilizer! :P

Are you using a different soil mix? I know mine work better when it is a little more perlite than Miracle Grow and NO vermiculite. Just works better for me. Rosie

I'm using a mix of equal parts of vermiculite/peat moss/perlite/bacto soil mix. :) they seem to be loving it so far!!

I am not familiar with bacto soil mix. I don't even know if it is available in our area. But I used to add vermiculite to the MiracleGro/perlite mix and found it would hold far too much moisture for too long in my house. I have never used peat. Once I stopped using vermiculite things got better. But maybe the bacto is a lot different than MiracleGro. I guess we have to go with whatever works in our respective enviornment! I checked the baccto website.

They have a premium potting soil, which uses reed sedge peat.

Their LITE premium potting soil uses a 'blend of spaghnum peat'.

they both list perlite, dolomite, and 'other ingredients'. Um...

Lol - like... What could the 'other ingredients' be I wonder?
