Is that couch/sofa a red or pink tone? Is the trim staying with a wood stain or being painted?

I would suggest keeping it cream since it complements both the different woods and the red sofa.

The couch is more red--it's called 'strawberry.' The trim will stay wood tone (although I'm often tempted to paint it...)

What about a pale green - BM Leisure Green/Spruce Green/Cool Mint? They are lighter colors while still adding a little color. They might play well with your wood tone and couch color, but sometimes it's hard to tell from a photo.

If you like cabbage rose or shabby look, what about not Dover White, but a white with clay-peach in it?

I don't paint or design. What about Dreamy White which they pair with Cocoa and Merlot? Is merlot already in hues there? art..... not exactly this rug, but if you want piano and chair's vibe repeated, braided rug? or just those somber colors add?

Thanks again for all your great suggestions. Attached are more helpful photos of the room. The photo of the rug shows the couch color more accurately. I have golds and reds with accents of black. Do you think I should stick with a neutral/cream shade? I'm sorry, but I don't know the name of the current paint.

Window treatments are also cream. (sorry about the photo quality on this one). The kitchen and dinette, which you obviously don't see here, are grey tones--also with splashes of red and black.

Bring the chips home if appeals --- PRO/The Shabby Nest: Valspar's La Fonda Dawn is similar.
