I typically store my 30+ bulbs, bare root, in the basement in a concrete-on-3-sides area for their winter sleep. This year somehow, I had a hard time moving them from the garage (heated to not fall below 50) to the basement until late in January (I think). Here we are in the later half of March and I have yet to see a bloom. I have potted about 5 bulbs at this point. The first of which has a scape that is approaching a foot tall. All of the bulbs seem to be slow to awaken. I usually see the scape emerge first, but this year, it seems that leaves are the first to emerge, with a scape to follow. Could this be because they were certainly cooler in the garage than they would have been in the basement?
