what zone are you in and how are you watering the plant?

I'm in zone 8, I watered it 3 times a week for the first week and twice a week after that. I got a meter that said the moisture was pegged out so I haven't watered it this week at all to see if it goes down. Not sure if it's reading correctly or not

Leaf curl may be due to too much or too little water. Do not trust the moisture meter. Dig down a few inches to see if the soil is moist before watering.

The leaf damage looks like it might have been caused by some sort of spray.

Yeah stick your finger down like Vladimir said. I think 3x/wk watering for your zone this time of the year is a bit much, might want to let the soil dry up a bit

Ok I e left it alone trying to let it dry out some. I'll dig down like you said and see what's going on there. I was worried about the PH level but my meter has it at around 7 which I read was a tad high but in the acceptable range. Thanks for the advice guys

My lemon tree seems to prefer to be on the drier side, if I water too much (like a normal plant) it starts looking sad and dropping leaves. I've never used a moisture meter and kinda got a feel for how much was too much. Good luck!

Not sure. Just comes from the outside faucet. How would I test that

John, I am not familiar with the effects of salt build up, I try to flush my pots regularly but I am curious would that show up so quickly? (within the month since he's planted)

Kyle, if it comes from a water softener, you would have a water softener tank in the house.

I take it that your tree is planted in ground. I am not sure what to do. You can dig it up, remove soil from the root ball an put it in a pot but that would stress it more. You can dig a trench around the root ball in hopes that that would help to dry it out some.

Do you have clay under your top soil?

May be remove the mulch for now so it can evaporate faster and dig a trench like Vladimir said. I did this to my young pomagrante when it was flooded for a couple of days during the past wet season and my soil is clay-like. Luckily, it pulled through and now flushing well.

So dig the trench in a circle around the base? I've pulled the mulch back some hoping that would help, guess I can pull it back a lot more. Thanks for the help so far
