I first submitted this question on Yahoo Answers and it didn't go very well so please keep your opinions to yourself and stick with the facts (if you know them).

My family and I will be starting an organic nursery in the near future and will be getting the soil certified as organic. My sisters and mother will be focusing on organic food and I would like to begin propagating plants and trees for landscaping. I will be (would like to) use the plants at my home as the stock plants. These plants are not in certified organic soil and were originally purchased at Lowes.

Question:

Can I use cuttings from my stock plants at home and plant them on certified organic land and not jeopardize the organic status?

Can these plants be considered organic? (Yes I know they are just landscaping plants and not food)

If something happens and the landscaping plant nursery doesn't work then I would like to be able to plant organic food immediately and not have to wait several years to regain the organic certification.
