The ambiance of a room is affected by lighting. I would change the CFL light fixture to something that is up to local building and safety code for a location over the tub.

If you want to try out different looks, collect some photos in your ideabooks. Then remove all the current decorative items and add only the one or two items on the tubs in your ideabook photos.

Sometimes less is more, especially if you are looking to create a peaceful look. Start by removing everything so the bathroom is stripped down. You could paint the walls a soft shade (and the vanity the same color or white), use white towels which will have a more relaxing, spa feel. Use one or two large pillar candles only. Add a simple blind and a nice ceiling fixture (place on a dimmer for softer lighting).
