Is it possible to bleach my new almond porcelain sink to white?

Maybe a dumb question, but I'm wondering if there is a way to bleach out my new porcelain sinks to make them look more white? They look almond to me? I do not want to paint them. Changing them is not an option. My husband would kill me! Thanks!!!

Doubt it. Check the manufacturer for details on this. Any way to get an exchange?

My bad, ignore the change out suggestion.

    Hello Heather Phillips Casey,

Sorry but that is a no-go. If you purchased almond it will always be almond. The only way to make them white is to have them professionally reglazed. Once done you cannot use any abrasive cleaning solutions or scrubbers.

Question? Did you purchase Almond sinks? You say they " look" almond but what did you actually purchase? Can you put up a photo? Is there any possibility you received the wrong product?

Unfortunately the color cannot be changed unless you have a glazer come in and redo the sink...

You husband doesn't need to know. A good guy could change that out in hours.

Glazing does not last in a kitchen sink like it does in a tub. One dropped pot or glass and it might chip.

Nope - but I have an inexpensive solution - they are probably bisque and only bothering you .. add a few off white accessories to the kitchen .. layer your whites . . even paint the walls a dark white like maritime white from bm . . you will start to love the layered white look . . like linen in different shades . .can be elegant . .

Lol love your comments!! The box said white, I bought 5 of them for our new house on my lowes card between built a new house and ran out of money. All my stuff is white.. grout etc. looking at them in the store I knew they didn't look very white, but I compared it to the almond and they were more on the white side. No cash to go Menards for the bright white ones!

You can't really tell here. But this is why they would look better bright white. Oh well..

They do look really nice with your counters. I think libradesigneye has the right idea: a slightly warmer grey wall colour would make this space sing. Save your pennies ;)

You also my try experimenting with some different spectrum LED lights. The daylight throw out a lot of bright light. It might make your sinks look whiter. On the down side, might not be the best light for the person looking in the mirror.

"This is a whole different story - these are undermount sinks - much harder to change - the backsplash would need to be removed then the top taken up... "

No. i've changed at least thirty undermount sinks over thirty years and have yet to pull a stone top to do so. You pop the cabinet front off. Not a big deal.

I really like your new bathroom. The vanity is the thing that looks the whitest in your photo. If it's wood, might you be able to repaint it a slightly off-white, to blend in with the sink?

No, it will only disinfect the sink or remove a spot but it wont make it white .

From the photo it look like your sinks work with the countertop but the countertop kinda fights with the tile on your wall a bit. Maybe it's just the pic?

This just happened to me with a new tile job. Installed white subway over existing white tub. Two different whites. Can you point to a link of layered whites?

I agree about the sinks with the counter. The backsplash doesn't work with the mix?? Now what?
