Growing under Lights

Gardenia Indoors with lamp

After all these years of lusting after a gardenia, but living in poor gardenia conditions, I finally decided to give it my best shot, even though the odds are against me.
Has anyone had success growing a gardenia under a hydroponics lamp? If so, which one do you use?

I live in zone 5, and love Gardenias. Obviously I cant grow them outdoors year around, so here's the fixture I use.
