They look awfully dark to be calla seeds. This is what they typically look like:

They just may be rather old but I'm not convinced of the accuracy of any seed one doesn't obtain for sale by a reputable seed company.

I'm going to see what they make. I put some in a moist paper towel to see what comes out. I'm never ordering any more seeds from China again. 2nd time I received seeds that's not right. Thanks for the picture. I'll order some real seeds next time.

No, those DO look like Calls seeds. Gardengal is confused. What she is editing you is a seed pod or husk. Callas seed kind of like pomegranates. You have a "fruit" (don't eat it) that is full of little greenish yellow fleshy pods, each of which contains a small black seed. Most people remove the seed from the fleshy pod before storing to prevent rot damage to the seed. What you ordered from China is PROBABLY correct this time.

Oh, and a post script- Callas grown from seed take sometimes 2, but usually 3 years to build a big enough tuber base to want to flower. Don't be surprised when you just get leaf mass the first year. I typically grow mins in an aquaponic coconut coir grow bed indoors for almost a year under my favorite blend of T5HO aquarium bulbs (standard florescent grow bulbs are garbage) on a 24 hour light cycle to maximize growth, then dug up the bulbs up a few months before planting time to let them be dormant for a bit. That way, they always bloom when I put them in the ground.

As you can clearly see, there are no small black seeds but the same looking buff colored seeds I referred to initially.

If you look online at Google images for Zantedeschia seeds, they all look the same. No small black seeds but larger, buff colored ones.

I'll try soil next time. They just turned black and mushy in the paper towel.

I am experiencing th same thing right now. When I looked up to see what I actually received, I believe they sent canna lily seeds instead. Pretty but I already have a bunch of those. Oh well.

I never tried the ones I had. I've had both calla and canna seeds since then. Go on YouTube to find out. I put the Canna seeds in a clear cup or glass of water to sprout.
