I use osmocote (time released) in the spring/summer, just to make watering easier (I can just use the garden hose outside and not have to do my drenchings). In the winter, because they are brought back indoors, and I water less frequently, I just feed with my water soluble tomato food each watering, and foliar feed with FoliagePro once a week. I also foliar boost with ProTeKt once monthly. Mine seem to thrive when fed year round.

I use a time released fertilizer in my potting mix. I am a hit or miss fertilizer so I use time released to give my plants a more continuous food supply.
