It's a bad guy; squish him. I find a few like that on my garden trees every year. When I see a leaf folded over, attached to another leaf, or with a small round hold cut out and folded over. The easiest way to treat them is just to squish them; then straighten out the leaf as best as you can.

You probabaly already squished him... but it might be a good guy. It could be a hoverfly larvae. They look like that in my yard, or they can also have brown stripes. They eat aphids and all sorts of other stuff. I'm learning a lot about them recently, as well as other bugs.

What I'm starting to do is just watch and wait when I'm not sure if a bug is a plant eater or a meat eater. If i don't see any holes on the foliage, or other damage, then the bug may be able to stay... but I try to figure out what they are eating. If I see them eating aphids or others, they can definitely stay.
