I found out someone in my vicinity, is looking for lilac cuttings.

I would like to offer mine, but I'm moving in a few months... and I don't think early April here would be a good time to cut.

Now I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject but I think I'm passed the true pruning time for lilacs (leaf buds are really large right now), which I don't think would hurt the lilac at this time of year, the bushes need it anyways, but...

Would those cuttings, done right before the leaves come out, stand a chance for that person's need of replanting ?

What about in a couple of weeks when the flowers are on ? Could I tell the person she ought to wait a bit for those cuttings ?

I'm at a loss... what would be the best time (within the next 6 to 8 weeks) to make/offer those lilac cuttings ?
